  1. Do you have a video that shows how to crochet around the post? I am having a very big problem with this.

  2. Your Ribbing and Lace Chemo Caps look lovely.

I know that I am probably making the ssk stitch harder than it is, but I have drawn a blank. This is the first time that I have not been able to easily figure out a stitch. Do you have a video or pictures of this stitch being done?

  3. I just found your blog through crochet pattern central and I must tell you, your crochet and knit work is amazing! I have been crocheting for a long time, but only know the basics of knitting and want to learn more after seeing your lovely knitted blankets. The one you made for your baby is gorgeous! I wish that I could knit like you do. :)

  4. I printed your cabled baby hatpattern but Idont know what “for magic loop” means. Is it something I need to know? Please explain. thank you. mary

  5. I would like to learn more about the magic loop. Tried it but found it confusing. Help!

  6. I’m replacing the top 4″s of a machine knit sky hat that came apart. There are 166 sts. I’m not sure how close to the top I should start the decreasing and to what final number of sts. The hat is a man’s size. Size “0″ needles
with a gauge of 10sts/11rows per inch. Thank you for any
    advice you can give me.

    • I like making reductions in the last 2.5 inches or so of a hat. I also like making reductions at 6 spokes because I think that is a taylored look. 166 is not divisible by 12, but 156 is. The first reduction could be made skipping the second and fifth spoke. Then there would be 156 stitches. Reductions of 12 stitches every other row for the 6 spokes would also make the reductions be in the last 2.5 inches of the hat.

For visible reductions with a clear spoke pattern, I use k2tog, ssk. For a more invisible look you can use ssk, k2tog.

  7. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the fast reply. I feel sure I can finish the hat now.
