Three Weeks

At three weeks old, Daniel weighed 7 pounds 9.5 ounces.  He is trying his best to catch up quick!

Here’s the cutie on the guest bed, on his Mammy quilt, in his cousin Rachel PJs, with his foo-foo and a Papa sci-fi book.

New Button

Daniel got a new button today, but from his expression, I don’t think he cares.

Sleeping Angel

This little angel is always striking the cutest poses when he falls asleep on Mama.

Gifts at home

These are gifts we received after getting home with Daniel.  The beautiful and delicious fruit bouquet is from Tina.  Ginger sent the soft blanket and outfit.  The diaper change themed package was from Millie.  Casey gave us the Got Milk themed outfits.  The Dangerous Book for Boys is from cousin John.

Gifts at the hospital

It’s been a couple of weeks ago now, but I wanted to share pictures of gifts we received when we were in the hospital.

These are flowers and a teddy bear from Papa’s work, flowers from Papa’s boss, a prayer bear and socks from Tuck, washcloth bouqet from Melissa and Sprinkler onesie from Dixie.

Daniel has demonstrated his sprinkler on a few occasions. The latest was at his two week checkup. He thoroughly sprinkled the table at the doctor’s office.

Lullabies

When Daniel is feeling fussy, I have had really good luck with singing him lullabies to get him to nod off.  I’ve tried several out on him and the one he seems to like the most is Down in the Valley.  Here he is asleep on the couch after a few rounds of Down in the Valley.

On couch after Valley

Down in the Valley

Down in the valley, valley so low
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow
Hear the wind blow, dear, hear the wind blow
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow.

Roses love sunshine, violets love dew
Angels in heaven know I love you
Know I love you, dear, know I love you
Angels in heaven, know I love you.

Writing this letter, containing three lines
Answer my question, “Will you be mine?”
“Will you be mine, dear, will you be mine?”
Answer my question, “Will you be mine?”

Down in the valley, valley so low
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow
Hear the wind blow, dear, hear the wind blow
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow.

Two week checkup

Daniel is growing.  He was 6 pounds 9 ounces at birth.  He was 6 pounds four days later.  Well, at his two week checkup they wanted him to have regained his birth weight.  He was 6 pounds 12.5 ounces today!  He was also longer.  He was 19 1/4 inches at birth and was 20 3/4 inches today.

This picture is due to a request from Mammy to see feet.  These feet came straight from dear old Papa.

Hiccups!

Little Daniel used to get the hiccups all the time when he was still in Mama’s belly, and things haven’t changed much now that he’s oot-n-aboot in the world (sorry, that was for Crazy Uncle Rob’s benefit… you know, the one in Canada). He doesn’t seem too bothered by them, but they are/can be amusing for the rest of us.

Family resemblance

So I finally got a good mug shot of Daniel that proves he’s kin to his maternal grandfather!

Daniel and Pipi - what a striking resemblance!

Rude boy

Papa didn’t teach his boy this’n. Yet.
