I’m not sure what it means that Halloween is Daniel’s first holiday, but we’re going with it.  Here is Cutie ready for his morning cereal with his Poppy and Mimi outfit and Uncle Larry and Aunt Brenda bib.

During the days when Mama used to work, which seems like eons ago, one of her favorite things to say was “I’d just as soon laugh as cry.”  Evidently Daniel has the same philosophy.  After an hour and a half of crying and frustration with not being able to sleep, he just decided to laugh it off.

At Daniel’s check-up yesterday his doctor said his iron stores from birth will be used up now, so it’s time for him to start having iron fortified cereal.  So we tried rice cereal today.  He didn’t care much for it.  Hopefully it will grow on him.

Daniel is six months old today.  Yesterday he had his check-up.  He weighed 17 pounds 7-1/2 ounces and was 26 1/4 inches tall.

So at 6 months –

• Daniel is still on acid reflux medicine but probably doesn’t need it.  We are taking him off of it slowly and gradually.
• Daniel still sleeps on Mama or Poppy for day naps.  We hope this improves as his medicine is reduced.
• Daniel still sleeps good at night with occasional crying.
• Daniel has one tooth in and another is about 2/3rds of the way through.  He suffers terribly with gum pain.
• Mama is still pumping.

We didn’t have great luck with six month pictures. The photographer lady was being boisterous with Daniel to make him smile which just made him afraid of her. We got a few good pictures before he was terrified.

Tuck came for a visit today and brought lunch.  Daniel sat in his high chair for the first time with us at the kitchen table.
