Daniel is seventeen months old today.  We took some pictures on Christina’s deck.  Daniel thought he was in a park.  He loved the plants, rocks and sticks.  He picked out a stick with a little bend on the end that looked like a walking stick. 

After two weeks of rain every day, the sun was a welcome change.  Daniel asked about the sun over and over this morning.  I think we all forgot what it was.

Daniel has his upper right molar today, so now we are just waiting on his upper left molar, which is really bothering him, and his lower right canine.

Today was Papa’s birthday.  Daniel gave Papa a card, but didn’t really know why.  Mama, Papa and Daniel ate at a nearby barbecue restaurant.  Daniel enjoyed some French fries.  He didn’t want to finish one before having another, so started opening his mouth to demonstrate to us that he had finished one and could have the next one.

On Wednesday the 16th, the lower left canine came in.  On Friday the 18th, the lower right molar came in.  So now we are just waiting on the lower right canine and the two upper molars.

Daniel found a little pad of Post-It notes and had a little fun.  Notice the one stuck to the bottom.  He’s also getting into the toilet paper.  I started looking around to see where the other notes had gone and found them in the bath tub.

For a while now I’ve been trying to capture a video of Daniel fiddling his lip.  He will be walking around doing it for a good while until I get the camera out, then he stops.  This is a video after his bath.  He does a little of his lip fiddle at the end, after giving Papa a big kiss.

Several years ago, Mama lost her keys.  She replaced them and had long forgotten the incident when we found them years later in the couch.  When Mama recently found the old set stuffed in the kitchen junk drawer, she thought Daniel might like them.  So Daniel has his very own set of keys, which he does love to play with.  He’s turning his keys in the screw holes of the back door.

Poor little guy is getting eight teeth at once.  He’s been chewing on just about everything trying to get some relief.  His lower left molar was the first to come through.  It’s been hard to monitor which are through because he is very protective of them.  As best as I can determine, his upper right canine came through on Tuesday the 8th and the upper left canine came through on Friday the 11th.  The lower right molar only lacks one corner, so I expect it any day.  Two corners of the upper right molar are through, but the upper left molar has no corners yet.

They aren’t really legwarmers, but it looks like it.  Daniel begs to put on Papa’s ankle socks which go up to Daniel’s thighs.  They really look like legwarmers when he’s dancing in them.

Daniel loves this wicker basket and wags it all over the place.  This morning he brought it over beside his book box and took all the books out of the book box and stacked them into his basket.

This is from this weekend when Papa was feeding Daniel, and Daniel was trying to feed Daniel.  Things don’t get this messy when Mama’s in charge.
