Phone
Papa and Mama have a lot of gizmos and Daniel thinks he needs them. So Mama got Daniel his own phone so that he can have his own gizmo.

Checking on DanielA while back, when we were converting Daniel to bed sleep, I was trying to figure out a way to spy on him with a webcam. I modified one by removing its infrared filter, but then wasted the next few weeks trying to figure out an IR light source for it. I finally gave up on the idea once he converted and we didn’t really need it anymore. Just last night, though, I realized I had had a night-vision-capable rig all along: my camcorder. It has two night modes, plus an IR illuminator, plus it works as a webcam. Oh, well. Anyway, long story long, I did at least use it to check on him after I got home from board game night at Uncle Daniel’s and Aunt Alice’s and found him all snuggled in with Bunny. 🙂 Eleven Months Old TodayDaniel has had a virus for a few days so I didn’t want to bother him with dressing him up. This is a demonstration of what he is typically doing these days – trying to get into everything. Here he is fishing for some remotes on top of the speaker. Standing in the DoorDaniel loves to look out the front door. He used to sit in front of the door. Then he would be on his knees. Now he can stand in the door. This is a four minute video (you have been warned). He crawls to the door and then stands up. After a few moments he starts making some cute noises. Then he puts his mouth on the glass. Eighth Tooth, Last IncisorDaniel’s last incisor broke through last night. I was able to get a clear picture of it while Daniel was opening wide for a spoon of bananas. He’s already working on a molar, so he didn’t get a teething break. Peep-eye JumpsDaniel and Poppy can come up with some funny games. I guess you’d call this one peep-eye jumps. Who needs toys when you have groceries?Mama bought some extra groceries when there was a great sale and didn’t have room in the pantry for all of it. Daniel found the stash and thought it was a lot of fun. WalkerSince Daniel started cruising a bit, last night Papa assembled the walker that Grandpa and Maw-maw gave Daniel for Christmas. This is his first encounter with it that he had this morning. He likes all the gizmos on it. He’s still a little unsure about using it for walking yet. Playing with blocksDaniel loves his wagon of blocks. He loves to rummage through the wagon pulling out blocks. He also likes to destroy anything any of us make out of his blocks.
Sandal TripMimi, Mama and Daniel took advantage of this great weather by going out to get Daniel some sandals for the summer. It was still a bit chilly, so Daniel wore warmer clothes and his tennis shoes. He wore his new sandals on the way back. |
