A birthday visitUncle Floyd, Aunt Lynda and Cousin Karen came to visit Daniel and brought him birthday presents. Daniel enjoyed the visit as well as the gift bags and tissue paper. First quick zoo trip of the yearWe only had a short time before Daniel’s nap, but it was such a pretty day we took a flying trip to the zoo. Papa had flipped Daniel’s carseats to face forward, so Daniel got to try them out in the new position. His legs aren’t cramped now. Since he’s really drooling with these pesky molars, I left a bib on him while we were in the car. He soon found his sandal strap and undid it. Isn’t he cute in his umbrella stroller? His cute yellow romper has a giraffe and says “short stuff”. 🙂 We were only there a short time, but Daniel did more people watching than animal watching. A meerkat came right up to and put his feet on the glass right in front of Daniel, but Daniel wouldn’t look at him. We saw these salamandars out on the sidewalk as we were leaving and don’t think Daniel saw those either. Papa set Daniel on the front seat for a few minutes while he got the air going and cooled the Jeep a bit. “So which button do I push to start this thing?” Twelve Month PicturesIt’s hard to believe that Daniel will be a year old in three days. Today Mimi, Poppy, Papa and Mama took Daniel to have his twelve month pictures made. When not having his pictures made, he wore a bib and had his foo since he was doing some serious work on his molars today. It may be three weeks until I have the pictures, but I will post them here when I have them. On the way out we encountered some bunnies with carrots. Two things that Daniel knows well are bunnies and carrots. Daniel was very excited about the bunnies and had to touch their carrots and pat them on the head. Getting out now that it is finally springIt was finally warm enough today for Daniel to wear a romper and sandals and get out of the house for a while. Mimi and Mama took him to the studio where he will be getting his one year pictures made on Saturday so that he could have a little preparation. First we took him to a restaurant for some lunch. These are a couple of videos Mimi took of his antics on the way there.
While we waited for a table, Daniel had his lunch. He enjoyed watching all the other people that were waiting for tables too. Daniel had a great seat by the main aisle so that he could watch everyone coming and going. He’s really into people watching. Daniel enjoyed scooting his juicer around on the table. His juicer is tied to his seat protector that he uses in high chairs and shopping carts, so it is also a big part of his shopping experiences.
And banging the juicer.
He also enjoyed playing with Mimi’s straw wrapper. Dribble? It looks like a soccer ball, but Daniel looks like he’s almost dribbling his taggie ball. Chicken is FunnyWith Daniel, you never know from day to day what will be funny. Today it was chicken. Toilet PaperDaniel loves to play with toilet paper. He likes to tear off little pieces and tear them smaller and smaller. Here he has a little collection of his tiny toilet paper pieces on top of the toilet seat. First EasterSince Daniel can’t have eggs, sugar or chocolate, the Easter Bunny left him a big carrot. This is Daniel first discovering his carrot.
He likes the carrot tail. He looks pretty serious posed with his carrot. Daniel had a slow start this morning. He says Mama asking to be picked up.
This is a four minute video of Daniel playing with his new trumpet and carrot. Anything that is taken to the stool is a much treasured toy. Toward the middle of the video Daniel starts “chirping”. Easter Gifts from Mimi and PoppyMimi and Poppy gave Daniel his Easter gifts today. His favorite were these stacking cups. They also gave him this little trumpet. He loved the tissue paper. He likes to tear off little pieces of paper and tear them as small as he can. Their musical Easter card to Daniel.
Stacking cup play.
Tissue fun.
