Daniel has been walking while having a hand on something for a while now, as well as standing unsupported while holding things and even squatting to pick up things and standing up again. He’s been very conservative about walking. He just hasn’t wanted to walk without having his hand on something. On June 23rd, he took three single steps, but hasn’t done much since. Yesterday Daniel took three steps without support, in a bathtub full of water, of all places. Later he took two steps in the living room. I expected him to walk more today, but he hasn’t.
These are Daniel’s bath toys. I got them free from Earth’s Best by saving receipts from his baby food. Daniel loves his bath toys and loves to take baths.

Fair warning: this is a five and a half minute video. Daniel pulls the register out of the kitchen floor. He plays with a jar and lid for a while then puts some bottles in the floor hole. There are some interesting sound effects and then Daniel plays with some very heavy cans of broth.
Before it gets too hot again, Mama and Daniel took another short zoo trip. We sat in a rocking chair and watched the carousel as Daniel had his bottle. Then we saw sheep, goats, a horse and chickens. Daniel enjoyed a little rest on this bench.
We stopped and watched some other children playing in the jungle gym and Daniel had a go at a swing.
About a week ago I came into the kitchen to find Daniel dropping a bottle of barbecue sauce into the hole in the floor where he had removed the floor register. He had four sauce bottles in the hole. Today I caught him in the act, so got some video.
For Independence Day we had lunch at Mr. Seth and Mrs. Dixie’s house. Daniel got to play with some of Zayli’s toys. While we had lunch, Daniel had his rice puffs. He usually doesn’t have a tablecloth, so that was the novelty of the day.
