Footstool

Daniel is sitting in his bean bag using a footstool as a TV tray as he watches Sesame Street.

Daniel’s Table

Daniel just won’t eat in his high chair anymore.  He eats at his little table in the kitchen.  These days he eats chicken, turkey, carrots, peas, green beans, summer squash, butternut squash, turnips, cabbage, potatoes, broccoli and bananas.  He recently tried okra and seemed to like it.

Daniel likes to keep a collection of his favorite items on his table.  He just leaves enough room for his plate and sippy cup.  I did get a giggle when I noticed his Bible and a Nerf gun in the current collection.

Tower

Daniel is very proud of his tower that he has built all by himself from smallest to biggest cube.

Twenty-one Months Old Today

I had to just get action shots of Daniel today.  He doesn’t slow down enough to pose.

Daniel, Grandma and the Bible

Daniel’s Grandma joined her Savior five years ago.  We have pictures of her on an end table and the mantle and have told Daniel since he was born that those are pictures of Grandma.  She is a very real part of his life and he doesn’t know to question that he’s never met her in person.

Daniel has a couple of story Bibles with paper pages, which he can use with supervision, but I wanted him to have a board book story Bible that he could look at whenever he wanted.  I found one this weekend that I really like.  After a couple of days of reading from his Bible, he told me that he loved his Bible by holding it to his temple.  That’s how he says that he loves his toys or any object he has affection for.  Sometimes he offers me the toy to love by holding it to my temple.  Occasionally he offers it to Papa to love while Papa is at work by then holding it out to the front door.

Today we were sitting on the couch looking at Daniel’s Bible and Daniel held it to his temple so I said, “Does Daniel love his Bible?”.  Then he held it to me, so I put it to my temple and said, “Yes, Mama loves his Bible, too”.  Then Daniel did something he has never done before.  He held out the Bible to the picture of Grandma on the end table.  With goosebumps running up and down my spine I said, “Yes, Grandma loves your Bible, too.”

Kickplate

Mama caught Daniel looking at a good looking boy in the kickplate.

If You’re Happy and You Know It

This is one of Daniel’s favorite songs.

Eating Cookie Monster’s Food

Daniel’s Cookie Monster book has lots of different foods on the last page and Daniel pretends to eat them.

Ring Around the Rosie

Daniel has been doing the spinning like this for a while.  I sing Ring Around the Rosie when he turns, and today it occurred to him that the last words were “fall down” so he started falling at the end of the song.

More Magnetic Sticks

Daniel has on both a pair of Mama’s and Papa’s socks.  He’s taking his magnetic sticks one by one from the living room to the kitchen and putting them on the fridge.
