Daniel is getting closer to walking so was needing his first pair of real shoes.  Today Mama and Mimi took Daniel to the shoe store.  Mimi rode in the back seat with Daniel which may have been the reason for this blissful look.

“This is the tooth that hurts.”

“Wow, my first big boy shoes.”

Daniel likes to sit outside his play pen close to my rocking chair.  He says “Hi” and then says “Mama” to ask to be picked up.

Yesterday was the first time I really knew Daniel was calling me “Mama”.  He usually does it when he wants to be picked up or rescued.  Also, yesterday, we learned he has another word: “mmba”.  In the context we knew it meant bottle.  He was really tired and was ready to go to bed, so started asking for an “mmba”.  Gene asked if he wanted a bottle, and Daniel got a little frustrated that we didn’t just know that was what “mmba” was.  So today Daniel used his first two word combination.  I thought I would start getting him used to a sippy cup by putting some of his milk in one.  Oh my, he got really upset.  He cried and pushed it away and then several times said “Mama, mmba!”  I transferred his milk to a bottle and that made him happy.  Looks like milk will have to stay in an “mmba” for now.

Daniel’s car rolls really well on the kitchen floor.

Daniel will be ten months old tomorrow.  It’s hard to believe.  Mama took the opportunity to play dress up again and get some cute pictures.

Daniel is only pulling up as far as his knees, but even this gives him freedoms he is taking full advantage of.  Here he is on the outside of his play pen, fishing toys out of it.

Daniel likes the independence his crawling gives him.

Daniel has started doing this waving a lot, but not at hello or goodbye times.

Yesterday, Daniel really put it all together and started consistently crawling… forward!
