Cicada
“Mama, what’s this funny bug?” I go to look, and it’s our first 2011 cicada.
Daniel watched as the cicada made it’s way toward the nearest tree. He gently touched it a few times.
He followed as it made it’s way up the tree.
Third Birthday PartyPapa decorated the kitchen.
Papa also got Daniel some great balloons.
Daniel discovered his birthday balloons Saturday morning. The 3 is as big as he is.

Happy Third Birthday, Daniel!Yesterday was Daniel’s third birthday. It’s so amazing that he is already three. His party and presents will be tomorrow, but on his birthday, I spent a little spoiling time with him and took him to all his favorite places. He picked out his own birthday balloon at a grocery store.
We met Papa and at lunch at Whole Foods, Daniel’s current favorite lunch location.
Playing in the front yardDaniel was playing in the front yard and I snapped some pictures. So many of them were cute it was hard to pick out just a few.
First Visit to the Dentist OfficeDaniel went for his first dental checkup and cleaning today. He was a grown up boy and sat still and did a great job. Here he is with his hygienist, Ms. Jeannie.
Visit to Mimi and Poppy’sDaniel visited Mimi and Poppy today and it was nice enough that he could play outside. Mimi took these cute pictures.
First HaircutDaniel had his first hair cut today. Mimi, Poppy, Mama and Papa all went along to see Ms. Chi Chi work her magic. This is before any cuts. This is after the first major cuts. Daniel was very quiet and serious for the whole process.
Daniel told Chi Chi it was nice. After his cut with his Papa. After getting it damp, it curled right back up.
Second Park Trip of 2011The weather was equally beautiful on Sunday, so Papa and Mama went with Daniel to another park. Daniel still going down slides this way: Riding the bee: The big slide: In the mazes: Yet another slide on tummy: First Park Day of 2011Saturday was a very warm and beautiful day, so Daniel was so excited to get to go to a park. It was still a little chilly when we first got there, so he had on an extra shirt and a cap, but it got hot fast and he got to shed the extras. Daniel is getting ready to go down the slide. He is very conservative to his slide approach as you can see from the videos.
