September 5 – “My son was singing at the top of his lungs while at Wal-Mart. He stopped long enough to ask, “Do I make beautiful music, Mama?”

September 6 – So while the other three-year-olds at Wal-mart were looking at toys, mine went straight to the cooking gadgets aisle and started cooking up all kinds of stuff. Warning: he was putting oregano in everything.

September 7 – Looking at a picture of himself his second Christmas: “Look! No hair!”

September 13 – Was at JCPenney’s with Daniel. He stood by a group of mannequins and said, “I’m one of these people.”

September 14 – As I drive Daniel around, he wants to know the name of every store and what they have or do. Today I was trying to explain tanning salons. “Do they get crispy?”

September 15 – Daniel pushing his mini shopping cart around in the kitchen: “I need to park in a handicap parking place because I don’t walk very well.”

September 15 – We have a neighbor named Ibrahim. Daniel just handed me a play $5 and said “This is Abraham, but I changed it to Ibrahim.”

September 16 – Daniel turning a sand timer: “I’m making minutes.”

September 18 – Daniel told me he needed grocery sacks to play with. I asked him how many he needed. “One hundred.”

September 18 – Me: “I sure do like you. I believe I’ll just keep you forever.” Daniel: “Will you really?” Me: “Yes.” Daniel: “Well, good.”

September 19 – Daniel petted my hair and said, “You are a good boy.” Then he kissed me on the head.

September 25 – “Me: “Do you know I love you?” Daniel: “Do ya?” Me: “Yes.” Daniel: “Well, good.”

September 27 – On Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey always says this about Toodles (my son’s favorite character): “He’s here for me-dles and you-dles”. Whenever Daniel repeats this he says “needles and noodles”.

September 28 – Daniel: “My leg hurts.” Me: “What’s wrong with it?” Daniel: “It just has allergies in it.”
