We’ve come a long way, baby

The Frankenbed

Everyone told me to cherish the earliest days with my son, but I’m glad they’re over.

Daniel was vulnerable and I was terrified, and I never want to do it again.

But I wouldn’t trade this year for anything. What an incredible little boy.

So that’s what a bili-blanket looks like. Maggie was 1-inch away from having to be on one when she was born. Hang in there, it will get better! Even when they are a terrible-two, it is better.

This is actually a bili-bed. The pediatrician had ordered a blanket, but the supplier brought this instead. I think the blanket would have been easier because it would have been portable. At this point in Daniel’s life, four days old, we were all keeping him in the living room instead of his room, but we had to use this in his crib. At least this was only a few days, but this was some tough few days.

It actually looked like a scanner or something. I kept expecting to find copies of him lying around the crib.
