Daniel enjoyed being rocked by Papa while we were in the hospital.

We’ve taken the phones out of the bedroom, so PLEASE don’t be afraid to call and schedule visits, etc. You won’t disturb us. If we don’t answer the phone, it just means we’re busy taking care of some very basic needs. Just keep calling until you get hold of us. Leaving voicemail is fine, too, but we’re not really remembering to check that much.

I apologize that we’re seeming a little withdrawn right now. We have stuff going on – just keep after us and we’ll get it worked out!

So sorry, but we’re still beat and have so much to do to keep little Daniel going. Mama’s folks have been taking great care of us, but we just haven’t made the time to update everyone on our boy.

We’ll get to it… I promise… but in the meantime here’s a little teaser of Daniel discovering the mmm-hmm goodness of his mattress for the first time.

I wanted to let everybody know that everything is going pretty well, all things considered:

• We’re home! 
• Daniel is very healthy
• Mama’s blood pressure is good
• We’re slowly figuring all this out
• We’re completely in love with the little guy

But:

• We’re going through the new parent “freak out” stage
• We’re having to really adjust to everything 
• We’re completely exhausted

We’re NOT trying to be antisocial – it’s just sort of working out to be that way right now. Give me (Papa) a quick call on the mobile phone any time for updates and questions about visits, etc. I’m going to try to post some more pictures of the little fella soon. We’re just trying to get the sleep thing figured out at the moment.

God has really blessed us, not just with such a perfect little boy, but also with all the friends and family that have expressed so much love for our little clan. We appreciate everything very, very much, but just ask for a little understanding if we’re not able to show that gratitude very well right now! I did want everyone to know how grateful we were, and that we really will get around to making a formal declaration of the same eventually. 🙂

We’re exhausted, so details will have to follow. No major complications came up, though, and our little boy is here!

Daniel loves to straighten his legs, which can be very uncomfortable for me.  We caught a bit of his leg straightening action on this last ultra sound a couple of days ago.  Check out these chunky baby legs.  Feet are on the left.

Yesterday we had an ultra sound to see how Daniel was positioned and get his estimated size.  He’s in the correct position and the ultra sound estimated size is 7 pounds 12 ounces, although our doctor thinks that is probably an over estimate and he’s probably more like 7 pounds.  One of the things we saw that I wasn’t expecting was hair!  I had no idea you could see hair on an ultra sound, but the technician pointed it out.  Pop and Mimi won’t know what to do with a baby with hair because I didn’t have any.
